Biography
Diana S Nascimento (DSN) is an Assistant Researcher at ICBAS and at i3S (Universidade do Porto, Porto). The main goal of DSN research is the development of more efficient therapies for cardiovascular disorders, with special emphasis on restoring myocardial integrity and/or inhibiting the formation of fibrosis in patients with heart failure. In the past years, she has been particularly focused on HFpEF pathophysiology, particularly on the relevance of the immune axis and cell senescence. In the past years, her main findings were published in prestigious international journals, namely Circulation Research, Cardiovascular Research Biomaterials, Nature Communications, Nature Aging, PLOS Biology, Stem Cell Reports. DSN has also leading several outreach activities dedicated to improve the scientific knowledge of young student and/or the general public. Overall, DSN is an authored 45 publications, of which 9 as senior author (accumulated IF=257, h-index=23, 1860 citations, Google Scholar), 2 patent applications and 1 software.
